my paper currently

when this assignment was originally given out, I had no idea of what my topic was going to be about. Not a clue. The topic I thought I would do my paper on was the issue of whether or not everyone needs go to college to be successful. My answer to that is no. Not everyone needs to go to college to be successful.
It is one of the things that has always bugged me when teachers told my classes that the only way to get a successful career is by going to college. There are so many examples of successful people that say otherwise.
This topic also hits home for me because I always knew that my dad never went to college and my mom only went to college for two years, and that is because she parents forced her too. The one thing that did surprise me was when my dad told me, before I came to Lewis my freshman year, is that I am the first on his side of the family to ever go college.
But I also have another topic that I could write about that also hits close to home. I am going into the male-dominated industry of Aviation. I want to be a pilot. I want to fly planes. I was so nervous about telling this to my parents the first time. Even though I knew they would support me, I was so unsure what they would think about it. Knowing that there is a lot of backlash at females that work in male-dominated industries, I knew the only way I would be able to go though with it is with my families support.
Since then my parents have been bragging about me and most people are supportive, but my dad was also told by one of his customers that he should talk me out of it because it is a mans job.
